Going home!

“Row me into the sunset and let it be the end of my story. I will steal the colours of the sky and smear it on pages full of black and white.” Abhishek Jha
Vague Musing
On a crazy sunny afternoon, she accidently stumbled upon Geetanjali by
Tagore, which she read looong ago. She, then, appreciated it for what
it is.
But when she started to read it again, she discovered the words
beautifully flowed to form a Lyrical garden, not just decorated it but
also painted its layers.. She felt as if images were forming a mosaic
as she read it.
Atlas she stopped at the following lines (which was almost the end)and
thought for sometime, read it again and again.
“It was they (my songs) who led me door to door, and with them I felt
about me, searching and touching my world.
It was my songs that taught me all the lessons I ever learnt; they
showed me secret paths, they brought before my sight many a star on
the horizon of my heart.
They guided me all the day long to the mysteries of the country of
pleasure and pain.” – Tagore
There was a big smile creep upon her face as she completed the poem..
She, then, switched her kindle off, and went back to her vague musing.
Sadho re- Agnee
Lyrics of Sadho Re(Agnee)
Sadho Re
Yeh Murdon Ka gaon
Yeh Murdon Ka Gaon
Peer Mare, Paigambar Mari Hain
Mar Gaye Zinda Jogi
Raja Mari Hain, Parja Mari Hain
Mar Gaye Baid Aur Rogi
Sadho Re
Yeh Murdon Ka Gaon
Yeh Murdon Ka Gaon
Yeh Murdon Ka Gaon
Naam Anaam Anant Rahat Hai
Dooja Tatva Na Hoi
Kahe Kabir Suno Bhai Sadho
Bhatak Maro Mat Koi
Sadho Re
English Translation
“Sadho re, this is a village of the dead.
The holy men have died,
Dead are the living mendicants,
The ruler is dead, so are the ruled,
Dead are both the physician and the patients.
The moon is dead, so is the sun,
Dead is the entire sky,
Rulers of all lands are dead,
What hopes from these dead can one have?
Nines are dead, tens are dead,
Dead are the easy eighty-eight,
Thirty three crore deities are dead,
Under the spell of the dark fate.
The names live on till eternity,
Nothing else lives on,
Says Kabir, listen o’ brother,
Don’t search in vain, anyone.”
This song has been my latest muse for quite sometime.. The song is beautifully layered by how we see the world around us. The poem simply refers to the dead society that we are part of and more importantly how dead we are.. We are just intertwined with ourselves so much that we really don’t look around us. the video beautifully depicts that we can be alive and strat living only if we decide ourselves to be open and see around.
Maggie and milly and molly and may
Maggie and milly and molly and may
went down to the beach(to play one day)
and maggie discovered a shell that sang
so sweetly she couldn’t remember her troubles, and
milly befriended a stranded star
whose rays five languid fingers were;
and molly was chased by a horrible thing
which raced sideways while blowing bubbles:and
may came home with a smooth round stone
as small as a world and as large as alone.
For whatever we lose(like a you or a me)
it’s always ourselves we find in the sea
-E. E. Cummings
The poem that made my day!! especially “For whatever we lose(like a you or a me), it’s always ourselves we find in the sea.”
Nostalgia
Rumbling down the lanes of memories,
little aged,
a little new
brushing the dust out of some
and some that remain vivid and clear.
These, memories, make me smile
and chuckle at some.
Fill tears in my eyes and slowly,
how beatifully have you grown into.
To those memeories that remain mine
Ghumantu Panchhi
Shubham has been my inspiration in a lot of ways… In classes, we exchanged notes of poems that we just spill on the paper to kill time.. He has composed songs, writes about life and everything that makes him to be happy.. his blog.. http://ghumantupanchhi.blogspot.in/
Like the migratory bird, he finds solace in power of pen and world of dream.
to celebrate the child in us that dreams! an innocent dream.. 🙂
dickens and life
In the age of google, we have the doodles to remind us if it is a special day!! yup today is 200th birthday of Charles Dickens.
I was having a conversation with a close friend (Naidu) about life and he reminded me of this of this quote from tale of two cities..
“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us”
